After 16 years at BC Wheelchair Sports, Kevin Bowie is moving on!
Kevin started at BC Wheelchair Sports in 2004, not long after graduating from the University of Manitoba. Over the course of the next decade and a half, he evolved into a jack of all trades at BCWSA doing everything from wheelchair repair to athlete recruitment to helping develop and improve flagship events like the Vancouver Invitational and Canada Cup.
As the head of the BC Wheelchair Rugby program, he worked with athletes and clubs across the province and played a leading role in the development of athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers from Vancouver to Prince George and everywhere in between.
Kevin’s impact on the sport is immeasurable, and we are grateful that he will continue to be involved in wheelchair rugby nationally and internationally, as well as in an officiating role in our community.
We’d like to thank Kevin for his years of service to BCWSA and wish him the best in his new roles at viaSport British Columbia and as a father to baby Ben who he and his wife Leanne welcomed into the world earlier this month.
Thank You Kevin!
You can join us in congratulating Kevin and share your favorite memory of his time at BC Wheelchair Sports by posting on our Kudo board here.
