BCWSA and BCWBS postpone the Okanagan/Interior Portion of Our Welcome Back Tour

BC Wheelchair Sports and BC Wheelchair Basketball have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the Okanagan and Interior portion of our Welcome Back Tour (Kamloops, Kelowna, Salmon Arm).

With the heart-rending wildfire activity in the Interior, as well as the recent announcement of the COVID-19 outbreak in the Central Interior, we look to keep the health and safety of our members, coaches, partners, staff and community our first priority.

Currently, the COVID-19 recommendations outline that individuals from different regions should refrain from visiting the central interior at this time, and that all events are to be held outdoors. Given the ongoing heat and smoke conditions, alongside the COVID-19 outbreak, we foresee extreme limitations in how we can safely facilitate our tour in the region at this time. We hope that as conditions get better, we will be able to re-schedule the Interior Tour for later this summer/year.
