Team BC didn’t let a heatwave stop them at the 2018 Canadian Track and Field Championships in Ottawa, as our racers and throwers made it on the podium 11 times and posted multiple personal bests.
Dakoda Darling led the way for BC’s throwers by finishing 1st in the seated discus throw and 2nd in the seated shot-put with personal bests in both events. Eddy Solla also took home a medal finishing 3rd in the seated discus throw and will now shift his focus to preparing to represent Canada at the 2018 World CP Games in Spain.
On the track, Tristan Smyth led the way for BC with three medals; silvers in the 800 and 5000m, and bronze in the 1500m.
Nathan Dewitt and Djami Diallo each added two medals. Dewitt won silver in the men’s T34/51 100m and bronze in the 400m. Diallo bronze in both the women’s T34/53 100 and 200m races. Sedrick Skabar added a bronze in the men’s T53 100m.
