IPIN - International Player Identification Number
The ITF is pleased to announce that the IPIN has been extended to wheelchair tennis. The IPIN provides players with a wide range of services and improves the efficiency of operating the wheelchair tennis ranking. The IPIN has been successfully introduced to both the ITF Professional & Junior Circuits.
- IPIN for all Wheelchair Tennis Players was launched in January 2010.
- All players wishing to compete on the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour will be required to have an active IPIN.
- The IPIN will enable each player to have a unique ID number and manage all their personnel details through the IPIN website.
- Please visit the IPIN website to register.
- The annual IPIN Membership for the Wheelchair Circuit is US$20.
Paralympians Lee Carter and Sarah Hunter Repeat as National Wheelchair Champions
Picturesque White Oaks Resort and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario was the site for the 23rd edition of the Birmingham National Wheelchair Tennis Championships held from November 5-8 with record performances from White Rock's Sarah Hunter and Winnipeg's Lee Carter. 2009 BC Decker Canadian Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships The 2009 BC Decker Canadian Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships will take place August 20 to 23 in Dundas, Ontario.

ITF Junior Tennis School
The ITF's Junior Tennis School has recently been launched and is proving to be a big hit with players, parents, coaches and officials who have signed up to participate in the e-learning initiative. The first module the Junior Tennis School students will attempt after signing up is Tennis History, which explains about the origins of the sport of tennis, great players of the past, the move into professional tennis and all the way up to innovations of the past few years such as HawkEye.

Birmingham Family Tennis Chair Award
The Birmingham Family has generously created the Birmingham Family Tennis Chair Award. The purpose of the award is to assist a deserving athlete to access the appropriate equipment to meet his/her high performance development needs. For the next five years, one athlete per year will be selected to receive a tennis chair. The award recipient will be announced at the Birmingham National Wheelchair Tennis Championships.
Selections will be made by Tennis Canada's wheelchair tennis High Performance Committee, and athletes who do not have a tennis chair sponsorship are eligible to apply. The selection committee will consider the following factors when determining the award winner:
- Review/evaluation of commitment to high performance tennis development
- Potential to achieve the National Team Program goals and/or the Paralympic Games
To apply for the award please submit a completed application form, and a 2 page essay outlining the reasons you feel you deserve the award to:
