2010 IPC Shooting World Championships
BC shooters Chris Trifonidis, Doug Blessin and Greg Labine along with Ontario's Mike Larochelle represented Canada at the World Shooting Championships in July 2010 in Zagreb, Croatia. By all reports, it was a great tournament despite some frustrating equipment failures for both Trifonidis and Labine. BC's Doug Blessin, shooting at only his 2nd International tournament, was named to the Canadian national team. Doug had this to say about his experience: "Without the help of the BCWSA and funding I received through the AAP (Athlete Assistance Program), I would not have been able to go (to the World's) at all so I am extremely grateful for the support they have given me. I owe some of my success to them for without their help I would not have made the team."
Final rankings (Canadian athletes):
» Mike Larochelle (ON) ranked 15th in 10metre Air Rifle Prone, final score 599 and ranked 34th in the 10metre Air Rifle Standing with a score of 586
» Doug Blessin ranked 21st in 10m Air Rifle Standing, final score 592 and ranked 40th in 10m Air Rifle Prone with a final score 592
» Chris Trifonidis ranked 70th in the 10metre Air Rifle Prone, final score 583
» Greg Labine ranked 52nd in the 10metre Air Rifle Prone, final score of 539
