Mobility Cup 2008
Mobility Cup, Canada's annual international regatta for sailors with disabilities, will be in Montreal next year.
The AbleSail Network (ASN) board unanimously voted at its annual general meeting to accept AQVA Montreal's bid to host the event.
According to that submission, the event will be held at Pointe Claire Yacht Club, between Monday, Aug. 25 and Friday, Aug. 29, 2008. This will include one training day and four days of racing.
The goal is to have a fleet of 20-25 Martin 16s, allowing 40-50 sailors to take part in gold and silver fleets. Venues have already been lined up to provide accessible accommodation.
Longtime volunteer Paula Stone will be regatta chairperson. Background about this regatta: www.mobilitycup.org
