Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship
Congratulations BC! The team of Jim Armstrong, Frank LaBounty, Vincent Miele and Jacqueline Roy, with alternate Whitney Warren and coach Melissa Soligo, defeated Ontario 8-6 in the finals of the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship in Winnipeg Saturday, March 29. Paralympic Gold for Canada's Curlers!
Canada's Wheelchair Curling team brought home a Gold medal following their win over Great Britain at the Paralympic Games in Turin, Italy. The skills and determination of this fantastic team made it happen. Congratulations to Sonja Gaudet, Gerry Austgarden and Gary Cormack all from BC, Karen Blatchford and skip Chris Daw from Ontario and BC coach Joe Rea - what a team! photos

Wheelchair Curling Have A Go Day in Fort St. John
BCWSA presented a curling Have A Go day in Fort St. John in March 2006 and everyone's hoping there will be enough interest for the city to have a wheelchair curling team. Six people were introduced to the sport, coached by Prince George player Bill Lindstrom. A great time was had by all! photos
