| Travel Grant Program |
BC Wheelchair Sports is entering the second year of our new Travel Grant Program for individual athletes. The intention of the program is assist athletes in the cost of travel to events outside of the province.
Program Goal:
To assist athletes in accessing competitive and training opportunities outside the province of BC in order to further their development towards provincial and national teams.
Target Athlete Group:
- Individual Athletes (Tennis, Athletics, Target Sports)
- Provincial or Provincial Developmental Level
- Carded athletes are eligible, however non-carded athletes will be given first consideration
Application Process:
- Submission of a completed Application Form, including: Training Records & Competitive Schedule; Statement of Long Term Goals; Results, Awards and Achievements
Selection:
- A committee comprised of BCWSA Board and Staff will review the applications and select deserving recipients.
- Recipients will be notified in writing as to the award
- Non-recipients will be notified and given the opportunity to appeal the committee's decision
Notes:
- This funding cannot be used to offset the athlete's portion of expenses in events already being funded by BC Wheelchair Sports.
- The total amount of funding allocated to this project for 2000-01 is $2500. This amount will be divided among deserving athletes depending on the number and quality of applications received. The Selection Committee will be responsible for deciding amounts of individual awards based on merit.
Application Deadline:
The application deadline for the Travel Grant Program is in March of the applicable year - please contact us for specific dates.
