Wheelathon Relay Day Team captains build relay teams of 10 people for the event held at Swangard Stadium in June each year for a day of fun activities for everyone combined with healthy competition. Anyone can participate - able bodied and disabled alike. Before the event, team members solicit pledges from corporations, families and friends. Each team collects a minimum in pledges - Corporate Team: $1000; Community or Sport Team: $500.00 The focus of the day is the wheelchair relay. Wheelchairs are provided by BCWSA. Each team member wheels one lap of the track, in order to complete a total team distance of 10 laps. The relay is timed and prizes are awarded for speed, team spirit and highest pledges raised. There is a children's activity area where they will be kept active and creative! There's music and entertainment, complimentary snacks and great prizes!
