Torino 2006

What a triumph for Canada at the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. The Canadian Team posted 13 Medals: 5 gold, 3 silver and 5 Bronze, putting Canada in 6th place overall in the final standings. And one of those Gold medals was wheelchair curling! Canada's Wheelchair Curling team brought home a Gold medal following their win over Great Britain. The skills and determination of this fantastic team made it happen. Congratulations to Sonja Gaudet, Gerry Austgarden and Gary Cormack all from BC, Karen Blatchford and skip Chris Daw from Ontario and BC coach Joe Rea - what a team!
